GDB Training Experiences & Guide Dog Advice

Hi everyone,

My name is JoJo. I'll be heading to GDB in CA next summer.

How did you feel when you first met your guide on Dog Day?
What were some negative experiences during your guide dog training?
What were some of your positive experiences during training?


What is your day like with a guide dog? I would like to get a better picture living with a guide dog.

Where do you bathe your guide dog?


How do you maintain the dog's odor?

I'll be living in a college dormitory with my guide once I've completed training.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bathed steven in the backyard when it was nice and warm out, and he loved it. lots of fur though. lol I haven't gotten out as much as i'd like to because it's too damn cold to do anything at this point, but I'll be commuting back and forth between college and home soon, so I hope we can find a routine that works best for us.

Thanks JoJo! I'll hopefully be in the minor class at GDB in August, so those answers were helpfull. I should know for sure in 2 to 3 weeks. Um... I'm tired cause its late/early whatever, so I think I'll go to bed.
